Violin & Viola Lessons
Hi there!
Welcome to the Ellie Harrison Violin and Viola Studio!
Is it your dream to learn to play a string instrument beautifully?
For children, teens and adults I offer solo and group lessons to students of all ages from beginner to advanced.
I am currently based in Wiesbaden and Heidelberg in Germany and I am also able to teach online.
Our Violin & Viola Lessons focus on:
Growing confidence, joy, and a lifelong love of music
Building strong technique with healthy body awareness
Developing fine-motor and problem-solving skills
Music theory, reading skills & creativity
Composition and improvisation
Workshops, performances & ensemble opportunities
I believe that learning music can be a wonderful life long experience and I use a holistic approach to teaching to focus on the whole student, not just the exam. This means incorporating music learning with body centering, creativity and creating chances to perform and play music with others. In my teaching studio we have regular concerts and workshops for my students and their families. Students also learn composition and improvisation alongside music reading skills so that each student has an opportunity to express themselves and learn new skills. The long term benefits of music learning for cognitive development are so amazing and it is so exciting to see students excel in all fields of learning as they progress with their instrument. Learning music builds confidence and the beauty of learning the violin or viola is to have so much potential to play with music others (piano duo, string quartet, chamber music, orchestral music) and alone with a beautiful cannon of solo music starting with Bach’s solo suites.

Willkommen im Ellie Harrison Violin- und Viola-Studio!
Ist es Ihr Traum, ein Streichinstrument wunderschön spielen zu lernen?
Für Kinder, Jugendliche und Erwachsene biete ich Einzel- und Gruppenunterricht für Schüler*innen aller Altersstufen an – vom Anfänger bis zum Fortgeschrittenen.
Ich bin derzeit in Wiesbaden und Heidelberg in Deutschland ansässig und unterrichte außerdem auch online.
Unser Violin- & Violaunterricht legt den Fokus auf:
- Aufbau von Selbstvertrauen, Freude und einer lebenslangen Liebe zur Musik
- Entwicklung einer starken Technik mit gesunder Körperwahrnehmung
- Förderung der Feinmotorik und Problemlösungsfähigkeiten
- Musiktheorie, Notenlesen & Kreativität
- Komposition und Improvisation
- Workshops, Auftritte & Ensemble-Möglichkeiten
Ich bin überzeugt, dass das Erlernen von Musik eine wunderbare, lebenslange Erfahrung sein kann.
Deshalb verfolge ich einen ganzheitlichen Unterrichtsansatz, bei dem der ganze Mensch im Mittelpunkt steht – nicht nur Prüfungen. Das bedeutet, Musiklernen mit Körperbewusstsein, Kreativität und Möglichkeiten zum gemeinsamen Musizieren zu verbinden. In meinem Unterrichtsstudio veranstalten wir regelmäßig Konzerte und Workshops für meine Schüler*innen und ihre Familien.
Die Schülerinnen lernen neben dem Notenlesen auch Komposition und Improvisation, sodass jeder die Möglichkeit hat, sich auszudrücken und neue Fähigkeiten zu entwickeln. Die langfristigen Vorteile des Musizierens für die kognitive Entwicklung sind enorm, und es ist wunderbar zu sehen, wie Schüler*innen auch in anderen Lernbereichen Fortschritte machen, während sie sich auf ihrem Instrument weiterentwickeln. Musik stärkt das Selbstvertrauen, und das Schöne an Violine oder Viola ist das große Potenzial, sowohl mit anderen zusammen zu musizieren – etwa im Klavierduo, Streichquartett, in der Kammermusik oder im Orchester – als auch alleine mit einem wunderbaren Repertoire an Sololiteratur, beginnend mit Bachs Solosuiten.
