Violin & Viola Lessons

Hi there!

Welcome to the Ellie Harrison Violin and Viola Studio!

It is your dream to learn to play a string instrument beautifully?

For children, teens and adults I offer solo and group lessons to students of all ages from beginner to advanced.

I am currently based in Wiesbaden and Heidelberg in Germany and I am also able to teach online.

Our Violin & Viola Lessons focus on:

• Growing confidence, joy, and a lifelong love of music

• Building strong technique with healthy body awareness

• Developing fine-motor and problem-solving skills

• Music theory, reading skills & creativity

• Composition and improvisation

• Workshops, performances & ensemble opportunities

I believe that learning music can be a wonderful life long experience and I use a holistic approach to teaching to focus on the whole student, not just the exam. This means incorporating music learning with body centering, creativity and creating chances to perform and play music with others. In my teaching studio we have regular concerts and workshops for my students and their families. Students also learn composition and improvisation alongside music reading skills so that each student has an opportunity to express themselves and learn new skills. The long term benefits of music learning for cognitive development are so amazing and it is so exciting to see students excel in all fields of learning as they progress with their instrument. Learning music builds confidence and the beauty of learning the violin or viola is to have so much potential to play with music others (piano duo, string quartet, chamber music, orchestral music) and alone with a beautiful cannon of solo music starting with Bach’s solo suites.
